Hope your weekend was fantastic irrespective of the crazy traffic that is a common occurrence in the “city of excellence”.
I digress. I would like to give you an update on the Beauty Africa Exhibition and Conferences that took place between 7th-9th October 2015 at the Eko Convention Center. If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter, you would have an idea of what I am writing about.
The Conference is the 2nd of its type as the first was held in October 2014 at the same venue where this year’s was held. The event showcases to the African Market the very latest beauty, wellness, aesthetics and anti aging products, brands and techniques from across the world. It is also aimed at providing a platform for beauty professionals in Africa and beyond to meet, network, source suppliers and embellish their knowledge; learning from both international and local experts about current techniques and technologies in order to enhance their business acumen and success.
I must commend the organizers this year as there were discussions and personalities that just made the conference oh so much more interesting.
On day one Khuraira Musa of Khuraira Cosmetics USA was there as she headed the panel of people who talked about Business Strategies in the growing beauty industry in Nigeria, Fatima Mamza of Mamza Beauty was also featured and she touched on The Fundamentals of colour and complexion for the bridal beauty. She was very engaging as she threw questions out to the audience and also gave up a few of her makeup tips. Bimpe Onakoya of L’Oreal took the audience on a journey through the world of Fantasy makeup.
On day two Dr. Hilda Ashio Titiloye (a very beautiful and wonderful lady) of SKIN101, Abuja revealed the techniques of Mesotherapy and Carboxytherapy in the treatment of cellulite and other skin conditions. She also gave some practical demonstrations on how Mesotherapy works. Practical demonstrations using Biologique Recherche (Paris) products/treatments were also given by a representative of Apple and Oranges Total Body Therapy. Day two also saw us discussing with the top beauty social media icons in Nigeria on how to build and sustain the beauty business through effective social media using blogging, Twitter and Facebook. The likes of Ezinne Alfa of Beauty in Lagos who headed the panel, Lola Maja of Sacred Beauty, Jennifer of Bella Naija, Stella Marais of Stella’s Addiction, Nibi Lawson of Kinky Apothecary and Daboju Ogboru of Savvy & Chic Hair Beauty Hub who were members of the panel.
Day three featured mostly makeup professionals treating a myriad of different makeup topics and hair specialists showcasing the latest hair trends and treatments.
All in all, this year’s exhibition was a great success as it featured more vendors than it did last year. There were quite a lot of companies that came from outside the country to showcase their products and services.
I look forward to attending next year’s Beauty Africa Exhibition and Conferences!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for checking in on me.
